Have your art as the front face of our board game!

We are looking for a talented digital artist(s) that can work with us to create the best cover (and maybe cards) for our upcoming board game.

Awards:

  • Your art will be displayed on the box of U.S. v. Common Sense.

  • Your name and up to 2 social media/website handles will be displayed on the box for as long as the design you submitted is in use.

  • A free U.S. v. Common Sense board game when we start distribution.

Art Styles We Are Looking For:

We envision all art to have a comical and witty essence

Courtroom Sketch, 1950s & 1960s advertisement, Renaissance Painting, Medieval Painting, Loteria, Political cartoon.

Vision for the Drawing:

This description is intended purely as guidance. If you have a better vision, please share it. Keep in mind this is our preferred scenario, so if you do have something better, you might want to submit various entries.

People in their 20-30s dressed in modern clothes. Think styles you’d see high school, college, and grad students wear. Think some piercings and tattoos on some people. They should be of different ethnicities and sexes. The judge should be on a wheelchair and be somewhat separate to the rest either in floor elevation or some sort of positionality that denotes a higher hierarchic level. If possible, there should be at least one other individual with a visible disability such as a white cane, mobility aid, hearing aid, prosthetic limb, etc. One disabled individual is mandatory.

A group of 4-5 individuals dressed in young clothes heavily arguing something silly (ex. CATS SHOULD BE ABLE TO ENLIST IN THE NAVY!) to a judge. The judge should be someone who is also dressed in modern clothes but has an old-timey judge wig and gavel, maybe a black coat. It should be obvious that these are young stylish people playing politicians.

Rules:

  • You must SUBMIT BY OCTOBER 10th 2025.

  • You CAN submit as many submissions as you want in whatever style you want.

  • The work you submit must be YOUR OWN, not AI or anyone/anything else’s.

  • Create this art in any digital platform you are comfortable with as long as you can submit as a jpg. png. or pdf.

  • You can submit a screenshot of your art, but why…

  • The judge will be the creator of this board game.

  • You CAN submit sketches and half-cooked designs. However, it should give an idea of what you can do.

  • If you win, you will be expected to modify your design or create one from scratch by some time in November or as soon as possible. We would like to get this game out before Christmas.

  • The art must not be partisan. You can include donkeys and elephants if you would like, but don’t make the issues they are arguing partisan.

Disclaimers:

The art you submit to this contest will be our intellectual property for us to use however we want, including commercially. But remember, if you win, your name will be on the board game box for U.S. v. Common Sense and you can put this achievement on your resume. If you are not selected, we will not use your design at all, for any purposes, and you will not get any mention in our board game box.
